About

Just a poor sinner… a traditional Catholic striving to walk in the Truth, keep the Faith, and resist the widespread apostasy – fruit of the heresy of Modernism – in order to one day be able to pass through that narrow gate to Heaven.

“Only the truth has rights; error has none.”

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema. As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema. For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. For I give you to understand, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For neither did I receive it of man, nor did I learn it; but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

(Galatians 1:8-12)

Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.

(2 Thessalonians 2:14)

“What then will the Catholic Christian do, if a small part of the Church has cut itself off from the communion of the universal Faith? The answer is sure. He will prefer the healthiness of the whole body to the morbid and corrupt limb. But what if some novel contagion try to infect the whole Church, and not merely a tiny part of it? Then he will take care to cleave to antiquity, which cannot now be led astray by any deceit of novelty.”

(St. Vincent of Lerins, Commonitories, ch. 3)

“To preach any doctrine therefore to Catholic Christians other than what they have received never was lawful, never is lawful, never will be lawful; and to anathematize those who preach anything other than what has once been received, always was a duty, always is a duty, always will be a duty. Which being the case, is there any one either so audacious as to preach any other doctrine than that which the Church preaches, or so inconstant as to receive any other doctrine than that which he has received from the Church? That elect vessel, that teacher of the Gentiles, that trumpet of the apostles, that preacher whose commission was to the whole earth, that man who was caught up to heaven, cries and cries again in his Epistles to all, always, in all places, ‘If any man preach any new doctrine, let him be accursed.’

(Commonitories, ch. 9)

“May God console you!… What saddens you… is the fact that others have occupied the churches by violence, while during this time you are on the outside. It is a fact that they have the premises – but you have the Apostolic Faith. They can occupy our churches, but they are outside the True Faith. You remain outside the places of worship, but the Faith dwells within you. Let us consider: what is more important, the place or the Faith? The True Faith, obviously. Who has lost and who has won in this struggle – the one who keeps the premises or the one who keeps the Faith? True, the premises are good when the apostolic Faith is preached there; they are holy if everything takes place there in a holy way…

You are the ones who are happy; you who remain within the Church by your Faith, who hold firmly to the foundations of the Faith which has come down to you from Apostolic Tradition. And if an execrable jealousy has tried to shake it on a number of occasions, it has not succeeded. They are the ones who have broken away from it in the present crisis. No one, ever, will prevail against your Faith, beloved brothers. And we believe that God will give us our churches back some day.

Thus, the more violently they try to occupy the places of worship, they more they separate themselves from the Church. They claim that they represent the Church; but in reality, they are the ones who are expelling themselves from it and going astray. Even if Catholics faithful to tradition are reduced to a handful, they are the ones who are the True Church of Jesus Christ.”

(St. Athanasius, Father of Orthodoxy, Defender of the Faith; Letter to his Flock)

“Let us never act with an eye to pleasing the world. Let us have the courage to endure the criticism and disapproval of the world. Let us have no human respect. As long as God is pleased, what does the rest matter?

We must have the courage to assert the Truth, never retreating from our duty. We must have the courage to face ridicule, because often our duty is mocked by the world. Let us do this out of love for Our Lord and to resemble Him more closely.”

(Rafael Cardinal Merry del Val)

“I renounce for myself, and I give to Thee, my will, my affections, my desires, every thing that I call my own. From this day forth do Thou with me, and with every thing that belongs to me, whatever pleases Thee. I ask Thee only, and I wish only, for Thy holy love, for final perseverance, and the perfect fulfilment of Thy will.”

(St. Alphonsus de Liguori)

“Let nothing disturb you, nothing frighten you;

All things pass; God never changes;

Patience attains all;

He who has God lacks nothing;

God alone suffices.”

(St. Teresa of Avila)

“The foot of the Cross is the gate to Heaven.”

“As the body needs nourishment, the soul needs the Cross to purify and detach.”

“Bearing physical and spiritual ailments is the worthiest gift we can offer to Jesus.”

(St. Padre Pio)

“Unless there is a Cross in our lives, there will be no Resurrection.”

(Ven. Fulton Sheen)

“The False Prophet will have a religion without a cross. A religion without a world to come. A religion to destroy religions. There will be a counterfeit church. Christ’s Church will be one. And the False Prophet will create the other. The false church will be worldly, ecumenical, and global. It will be a loose federation of churches. And religions forming some type of global association. A world parliament of churches. It will be emptied of all divine content and will be the mystical body of the Antichrist. The mystical body on earth today will have its Judas Iscariot and he will be the false prophet. Satan will recruit him from among our bishops.”

(Ven. Fulton Sheen, 1950)

“The Antichrist will not be so called; otherwise he would have no followers. He will not wear red tights, nor vomit sulphur, nor carry a trident nor wave an arrowed tail as Mephistopheles in Faust. This masquerade has helped the Devil convince men that he does not exist. When no man recognizes, the more power he exercises. God has defined Himsel as “I am Who am,” and the Devil as “I am who am not.” Nowhere in Sacred Scripture do we find warrant for the popular myth of the Devil as a buffoon who is dressed like the first “red.” Rather is he described as an angel fallen from heaven, as “the Prince of this world,” whose business it is to tell us that there is no other world. His logic is simple: if there is no heaven there is no hell; if there is no hell, then there is no sin; if there is no sin, then there is no judge, and if there is no judgment then evil is good and good is evil. But above all these descriptions, Our Lord tells us that he will be so much like Himself that he would deceive even the elect – and certainly no devil ever seen in picture books could deceive even the elect. How will he come in this new age to win followers to his religion?

The pre-Communist Russian belief is that he will come disguised as the Great Humanitarian; he will talk peace, prosperity and plenty not as means to lead us to God, but as ends in themselves. … The third temptation in which Satan asked Christ to adore him and all the kingdoms of the world would be His, will become the temptation to have a new religion without a Cross, a liturgy without a world to come, a religion to destroy a religion, or a politics which is a religion – one that renders unto Caesar even the things that are God’s. In the midst of all his seeming love for humanity and his glib talk of freedom and equality, he will have one great secret which he will tell to no one: he will not believe in God. Because his religion will be brotherhood without the fatherhood of God, he will deceive even the elect. He will set up a counter-church which will be the ape of the Church, because he, the Devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the Antichrist that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ.”

(Ven. Fulton Sheen, Communism and the Conscience of the West)

“I am worried by the Blessed Virgin’s messages to the little Lucy of Fatima. This persistence of Mary about the dangers which menace the Church is a divine warning against the suicide of altering the Faith: in her liturgy, her theology and her soul. I hear all around me innovators who wish to dismantle the Holy Sanctuary, destroy the universal flame of the Church, reject her ornaments and make her feel remorse for her historical past. …

A day will come when the civilized world will deny its God, when the Church will doubt as Peter doubted. She will be tempted to believe that man has become God. In our churches, Christians will search in vain for the red lamp where God awaits them. Like Mary Magdalene, weeping before the empty tomb, they will ask, ‘Where have they taken Him?'”

(Eugenio Cardinal Pacelli, future Pope Pius XII; Mgr. G. Roche, “Pie XII devant l’Historie”)

“I saw a strange church being built against every rule. No angels were supervising the building operations. In that church, nothing came from high above. There was only division and chaos. It is probably a church of human creation, following the latest fashion, as well as the new heterodox Church of Rome, which seems of the same kind… I saw again the strange big church that was being built there (in Rome). There was nothing holy in it… I did not see a single Angel nor a single saint helping in the work… I saw that many of the instruments in the new Church, such as spears and darts, were meant to be used against the living Church…

They built a large, singular, extravagant church which was to embrace all creeds with equal rights: Evangelicals, Catholics, and all denominations, a true communion of the unholy with one shepherd and one flock… All was made ready, many things finished; but, in place of an altar, were only abomination and desolation…

I see that the false Church of Darkness is making progress, and I see the dreadful influence that it has on people… They must pray above all for the Church of Darkness to leave Rome.

I now see that in this place (Rome) the (Catholic) Church is being so cleverly undermined, that there hardly remain a hundred or so priests who have not been deceived. They all work for destruction, even the clergy. A great devastation is now near at hand… In those days Faith will fall very low and it will be preserved in some places only… I saw the fatal consequences of this counterfeit church: I saw it increase; I saw heretics of all kinds flocking to the city. I saw the ever-increasing tepidity of the clergy, the circle of darkness ever widening…”

(Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, 1820-21)

“I give you a warning. The disciples who are not of My Gospel are now working hard to remake according to their ideas and under the influence of the enemy of souls a Mass that contains words that are odious in My sight. When the fatal hour arrives when the faith of my priests is put to the test, it will be these texts that will be celebrated in this second period… The first period is the one of My priesthood which exists since Me. The second is the one of the persecution when the enemies of the Faith and of Holy Religion will impose their formulas in the book of the second celebration. Many of My holy priests will refuse this book, sealed with the words of the abyss. Unfortunately, amongst them are those who will accept it…  These infamous spirits are those who crucified me and are awaiting the kingdom of the New Messiah.”

“They will not stop on this hateful and sacrilegious road. They will go further to compromise all at once, and in one blow, the Holy Church, the clergy, and the Faith of my children. (There will be) a dispersion of the pastors (bishops) by the Church itself; true pastors who will be replaced by others formed by Hell, initiated in all vices, all iniquities, perfidious, who will cover souls with filth… new preachers of new sacraments, new temples, new baptisms, new confraternities…”

(Marie-Julie Jahenny; words of Our Lord and Our Lady to the Breton stigmatist, November 27, 1902 and May 10, 1904)

“Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of the Antichrist… The Church will be in eclipse, the world will be in dismay.”

(Our Lady of La Salette, 1846)

  25. MattM says:

    Just found this amazing site today when my wife sent me the link. God bless you for this important work!
    Question, though: I see you have a reference from Anne Catherine Emmerich. Beatified in 2004 by JPII, the writings attributed to her words are doubtful, seeming to have been written or modified by a heretic to suit his own agenda. How do you and so many other well-meaning traditional Catholics quote “her” words which are rather evidently of doubtful origin?

    • T C says:

      Thank you for your comment and prayers. I’m not aware of Anne Catherine Emmerich’s writings containing anything heretical or contrary to faith or morals. Many Catholics over the last couple of centuries have found her writings to be helpful when it comes to growing in piety and love for Our Lord and Our Lady. They have also been recommended by several Popes and saints (of the pre-Vatican II Church), and have received a number of imprimaturs even back in the 19th century. However, one is certainly free to disregard any particular mystical author, as well as any private revelation. By the way, there have been many mystics who have not been officially canonized (or beatified) whose writings are widely acknowledged to be of great spiritual value (see for instance the Mystical City of God of Maria de Jesus de Agreda). Thank you, and God bless.

  26. Andrew says:

    There is a ton of great work on this website. Is this work legal? God bless.

    • T C says:

      Thanks for your comment. If by ‘legal’ you mean not under copyright, you need to check with the publisher of the particular book you’re interested in. Many of these books are in the public domain, others are published under a specific online license, others may only be in the public domain in certain countries, etc. We only gather the links to works which are already freely available online. For further information you need to contact the publisher who uploaded the book on their website. God bless.

  36. bro mariano says:

    am also certainly sad to see that modernism has deeply been ingrained into the catholic church; and, the standard of morality has been so much degraded that i don’t hear much of the clergy speaking of such evil in the pulpit. sad … just sad … but let us pray yet altogether that we may be kept strong and not be swayed towards this modernist approach of the “modern” clergies.

  40. Michael Mbogori says:

    Hi. Thanks for the wonderful collection of books. Sorry I’m a bit scrupulous but could you confirm whether we need rights of the publishers or authors to freely download these books. Thanks again.

    • T C says:

      Thank you for your comment. I’m afraid I cannot answer that – I’ve simply collected links to books that are freely available online (i.e. someone else uploaded them); you’d need to ask the websites where they have been uploaded. Old religious books typically don’t have copyright, so any of those should be fine to use. God bless.
